Your Responsibilities

Together with other youth leaders, you will organize, lead, and plan open youth center activities. Your work is characterized by a holistic approach, inclusion, and responsibility. You are a good adult role model who easily builds relationships and can create positive dialogue with young people. The open youth center is a drug-free environment where young people feel safe, significant, and have meaningful leisure activities.

Gunnebo Youth Center primarily targets young people aged 10–19 years, and the activities aim to promote young people's health, motivations, and interests where they can feel safe, significant, and have meaningful leisure activities.

Mejeriet UNG is the open meeting place for young people in Västervik city and part of the Mejeriet youth & cultural house. The activities consist of an open youth program for and with the age group 13–19 years, as well as a café operation aimed at all ages. As a youth leader at Mejeriet UNG, you will also work in the café and provide service to tenants and visitors in the building.

An approximate workload distribution for the position is Gunnebo Youth Center 75% and Mejeriet UNG 25%.

The work also includes collaboration with others who work for and with young people, such as the association life.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained youth leader or has other education that the employer deems suitable. You have previous experience with similar tasks involving children and young people.

A driving license (B) is a requirement for the position.

You are open, social, and responsible, and you are a good role model for young people. As a person, you are secure in yourself and can adapt your behavior to the situation you are in. You are a lively person with many fun ideas. You are skilled in handling social media, and above all, you have the desire to be there for the youth in Västervik Municipality. You will mentor and coach young people but also be responsible for organizing your own activities and leading them.

The job thus requires a high degree of personal maturity, the ability to drive your work forward, and a good ability to collaborate with others. We also value the ability to be flexible as you may need to adjust quickly to changing circumstances.
